Pet Wellness Exams & Preventative Care

At Rathmines veterinary hospital, the mainstay of our workload is in the management of the health of our much-loved patients and prevention of illness, where this is possible. Our philosophy is that as people, we take care of our own health and wellbeing and hence, we ought to take the same care of our animal companions. We tailor wellness care for each pet individually as we do not believe in a one size fits all approach. Wellness care incorporates general wellbeing, cardiac care, eye care, dental care, joint care (arthritis awareness and management primarily), family planning/desexing and vaccination recommendations among many other factors. Our vets are trained to the highest local and international standards and are regularly occupied by furthering their education through a variety of means including attending seminars and conferences; attending live-streamed online conferences and reading-up on various topics in medical journals; online and in textbooks. This enables our team of vets and veterinary nurses to ensure that your pet family member is looked after as best possible while under our care. In the unfortunate event that we are unable to provide all the necessary care for your pet (e.g. particularly complex medical or surgical cases), we work very closely with our local referral veterinary hospital – Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) at Tuggerah, Central coast as well as several tertiary care veterinary hospitals in Sydney.
